About Me

Hello there! My name is Jessica (they/them) and I'm a film and video editor currently based in Brooklyn, NY.

I have always been interested in the editing aspect of filmmaking and began by making little montages with Windows Movie Maker on my laptop just for fun. After learning some more and discovering Adobe Premiere, I got to help out on the feature documentary film Classic as a post-production intern. I learned so much about the technical side of post-production, and also about how editing really is all about storytelling.

After that, I interned at the New York International Children's Film Festival where I got to see how a film festival operates from the inside. I then went on to intern at the organization Artists for Peace and Justice. During my seven months there, I did an initial cut of a short form documentary about the creation of a music album.

As I was working on that, I completed my undergraduate degree at Pace University in New York, with a double major in Film and Screen Studies and Women's and Gender Studies. I spent my last semester at Pace working on my thesis about queer filmmaking and aesthetics, and produced my own short film.

Then in 2018, I moved to London for a year to do a Master of Arts in Film Editing at Goldsmiths University. During the year long course, I became an Avid Certified User and edited two short films, Wordless and Go for Alayna, which have both screened at various festival in the United States, the UK, Australia, and Spain.

Most recently, I've been working as an Assistant Editor on a docu-series at Trilogy Films.
